3 Creative Bubble Wand Activities to Try This Fall

By: Knowledge Crates

Fall is officially here! With cooler days, cozy layers, and those crunchy leaves, it's the perfect season to maximize outdoor time with your kiddos. Luckily, both our Preschool and Elementary Explore Weather crates include the ultimate outdoor toy: bubble wands!

Bubble wands are a childhood favorite, and theyโ€™re even more magical when you think outside the box! Whether it's a sunny, breezy fall day or just the perfect time to get outdoors, bubbles can add fun to any play session. If you're looking for creative ways to keep your preschooler entertained with bubble wands, here are three exciting bubble wand activities to try during your next outdoor adventure.

1. Bubble Painting

Take your bubbles to a whole new level by turning them into an art project! All you need is some bubble solution mixed with washable paint, a bubble wand, and a large piece of paper. Encourage your child to blow bubbles onto the paper, creating unique and colorful bubble prints as they pop. Each bubble leaves behind a different size and design, which makes for a fun and unpredictable creative experience. This activity is a great way to combine outdoor play with artistic exploration, and the result is beautiful bubble art your child can proudly show off!

Bonus tip:

Try different colors of paint for a vibrant, layered effect!

2. Bubble Tag

Bubble tag is an energetic twist on classic bubble play. In this version, one person blows bubbles while the others try to pop them before they reach the ground. To add an extra challenge, you can encourage your child to pop the bubbles using specific body parts like their elbows, knees, or feet. This game gets kids moving and helps them develop their gross motor skills while chasing after bubbles. Plus, itโ€™s a great way to burn off energy while enjoying the crisp fall weather!

Bonus tip:

Add a fun twist by making "freeze zones" or calling out challenges like "pop three bubbles in a row!"

3. Bubble Sculptures

For a playful twist, challenge your child to create bubble sculptures! All you need are bubble wands and a little patience. Encourage your child to blow bubbles and see how many they can stack on top of each other before they pop. Can they create a tower of three bubbles? Maybe four? The goal is to see how many bubbles they can balance and how tall their "sculpture" can get. This activity encourages concentration and fine motor skills as your child carefully stacks one bubble at a time. You can also challenge siblings or friends to see who can create the tallest bubble tower!

Bonus tip:

Using a straw as a wand can help create smaller bubbles that are easier to stack!
